As you all know I am very involved with Washington Realtors as the Vice President-Elect of Information Systems, having just finished my year as VP of Business Practices.
Each January over 600 REALTORS gather in Olympia to meet our legislators asking them to pass legislation to benefit and protect the consumer and homeowner in Washington State.
This year we will be asking the Legislature to pass a bill regarding the short sale deficiencies a consumer faces after a short sale has closed. Washington State is a non-collectible state; however, many lenders are still trying to collect the deficient balance from the homeowner. This Bill will INSURE that collection DOES NOT occur. It will give a sureness to the consumer that they are protected.
This is great news with the number of short sales being closed. I have completed four short sale transactions last year and this legislation would have saved an 11th hour conflict between lender and home seller.
Thank YOUR REALTOR for looking out for your best interests.
Here is a great video that was produced by the Founder and Chairman of RE/MAX International, Dave Liniger on his predictions for the 2012 market. He is a highly respected advisor in the business world.
